Today we left the house at 6:40 am to go to a school presentation. The school is a Christian school but has many unsaved students. It was a little smaller of a group than the public schools and they had an actual chapel area where the students were able to be seated as opposed to just having to stand throughout the presentation. The students were very attentive and the administration was very grateful for our time with them. We then headed about 20 minutes away to another similar school for our second presentation of the day. After this presentation, The administration took us to a side room to thank us for our presentation, to invite us to return in the future and to offer us some snacks.
Since our next presentation was not until the afternoon, we returned home for lunch and a little time off. Eric, Luke and Sean enjoyed playing some soccer, while the rest enjoyed getting some rest and relaxation.
We then went to a public school for our third presentation of the day. Some public schools are very organized and disciplined and some are not. Since the last public school we were in was well behaved, it was time to see the other side. The students talked throughout most of the presentation making it difficult to concentrate while singing and preaching. We know that in all the schools where we go, there are a group of students who really do not want to listen to what God has to say but most of the time in it displayed in silent rebellion as they are not permitted to voice it. This was just a very small reminder of what Paul might have faced as he preached the gospel in many cities though none of us were stoned and left for dead. But just as Paul found those that were willing to listen to his message in the cities, so also in this school there were those that were attentive to the gospel that was preached to them.
For our final presentation of the day, we went to a new mission work for an open-air presentation. We went to a near-by concrete "fulbito" (small soccer) court and setup our sound system and began to sing. As we sang, people stopped by to listen and to see what was transpiring. We had the opportunity to present the gospel to around 50 people this evening. Afterwards, the pastor of the church was able to make some good contacts to be able to visit some of the families in their homes to continue working with them.
At this point, we were all getting pretty hungry. So, we stopped in at a "pollo a la braza" (rotisserie chicken) restaurant. The food was very good and we had a good time of fellowship with the pastor before returning home for the day.
