We left for church at 8:40am and had the opportunity to participate in a service in the morning service though we were not conducting any part of it. After the service we assisted with a couple projects in preparation for a construction work day later in the week and for next week on Thursday when we will be assisting them with pouring a concrete ceiling over some of their current Sunday School classrooms so they can add other classrooms on the second floor as needed. The church then provided lunch.
After lunch, we practiced our program some more in preparation for the evening service. The evening service presentation went well with Greg having the opportunity to share his testimony. After I gave the message on "Doing Right the Right Way" the pastor gave an invitation in which one person raised their hand for salvation and several others for taking care of other issues with God.
This month marks the 13th anniversary of this church. One of their ways of celebrating is to have a "paseo de antorchas," a walk of torches. These torches are sticks with candles protected by some shapes to protect them from the wind. After the evening service, we walked around the neighborhood singing songs and telling others about the church for about an hour. It was a good experience that we had not done in the past.
We then returned home at 11:00pm to get some rest.
