Even though we knew that the tournament would not start on time, we headed to the tournament location at 7:45 am. We setup the courts and prepared for the teams to arrive. We got started around 10:30 am, and this seemed to move along pretty well. We served lunch around 2:30 and then had our gospel presentation before continuing the tournament. There were many people there who are not saved or regular church attenders. They were attentive as we shared with them how we have all specifically sinned and how Christ is the only way of salvation. We then have a choice to either humble ourselves to accept Him or because of pride reject Him. As part of the tournament rules. In order to receive the prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams, they needed to be present in the church service on Sunday night. We trust that the Lord will use the seeds that were planted on this day to bring fruit for Him.

We returned home after finishing the tournament at around 6:00 pm, got changed, and headed out to do a little sightseeing and to get dinner. We arrived in the main plaza to a large group of people watching their women's boxing champion on a large screen defend her title against a Brazilian boxer. We have visited the plaza on other trips but never at night. It was beautiful and a good opportunity to see some of the sights. As we walked around heading to find a place to eat dinner, we came across a catholic wedding in progress in a catholic church. People were allowed to go in and walk along the back or the side and pray to the different images placed there. The building was very ornate and many people were praying to the images around the walls of the church. Two of our team members commented as to how sad it was to see people placing their trust in the images instead of in God Himself.
