With our presentations completed, we had to return much of the stuff that we had used throughout our stay in Lima and clean up the house. We then headed back out for a little more sightseeing and shopping. While we were down at the beach, Greg slipped on one of the rocks and scrapped his shin. He was fine but we did get to use our first aid kit. After a little more shopping to try and complete everybody's lists, we headed back home for one last meal at home.

At 7:15 pm, our driver arrived, we loaded the van up (pretty much as full as possible), and headed to the airport. We had a group of people who came to the airport to see us off. As we were checking in, we noticed that the flight arriving from Miami was delayed. When we checked-in, they confirmed that we would delayed for 1 hour. Once we got on the plane, we sat there for a long time when finally the pilot informed us that there had been a "misunderstanding" with one of the passengers (we found out later he was escorted off the plane) and that another plane needed to be towed off the runway before we could take off. By the time we left, we were 2.5 hours late. Not a big deal except that we only had a 2.5 hour layover in Miami. The pilot informed us that we should be landing at 8:00 am which was the time of departure for our connecting flight. We knew that unless the next plane was delayed, we would not make our connection.
