June 19th, Monday

Monday, we had a day of sightseeing. We first went to Pachacamac which are some Inca ruins just south of Lima. We then went to a "fancy" mall overlooking the ocean where we ate lunch in the food court. We next went down to the beach where we were able to experience the Pacific Ocean. Some of our team really experienced it as a quick wave caught Andrea, Joy, Chris, and Sarah.

We then went shopping. We went to a market to get some clothes for those who were soaked and then headed to the Artesan shops for everyone to buy their souvenirs. We spent around 3 hours shopping with people trying to make up their mind what to buy and bartering for the best price.

As we were then hungry again, we went to pizza street to enjoy dinner before going to the "hippy market" (originally it was run by hippies but has been taken over by the municipality and is a regular place for tourist to get some other souvenirs). After a couple more hours of shopping and with most people having completed their shopping lists, we finally made our way back home.
