June 15th, Thursday

Today was another work day at a different church. Originally we were scheduled to be in schools on this day, but the pastor we were going to be working with had to cancel as his wife is having some complications with her pregnancy. We swapped the two Thursdays on our schedule. The girls worked at general cleaning and then painting a mural on the outside of the church building. They guys helped take an old aluminum ceiling down and put up a new ceiling properly sloped to correct some problems that the church was experiencing. They guys also stripped down some walls from cracking dry-wall plaster so that they could be re-plastered.

When we swapped the Thursday schedules we canceled the night service that we were scheduled to have with the pastor who had to cancel because of pregnancy problems. We were however invited to return to the church that we were on on Wednesday night for the Thursday service as they were having an anniversary campaign and their original speaker that they had scheduled had just canceled.

As we were cleaning up from the work day and getting ready to go to church, the lights went out in the house we were staying in giving several of the team members another Peruvian experience of taking cold showers. We did get the lights back on after about an hour. After practicing a couple of our skits, we left the house to go to church.
We had the opportunity to teach the people a couple of songs and then share with them a couple of skits and special music. Andrew also shared his testimony. I then preached about the signs of a True & False Conversion.
