At 7:30 am, we headed back out to Los SureƱos where we would be working during the morning. The initial plan was to help lay the foundation for the wall where we dug the trenches. However the load of crushed rocks that had been ordered did not arrive in the morning as scheduled. The rock crusher at the plant had broken down and delayed the delivery so we were able to move rocks and sand in preparation for the work but ran out of work a little early. The girls also finished hanging letters on the wall of the main auditorium and then started on another verse.

Right before lunch, since we were waiting for materials, the team had the opportunity to play some soccer and visit with some of the kids. After eating lunch which the church provided for us, we got cleaned up and prepared to go to two schools for high school presentations.

As we walked (OK, they walked, I rode) to the first school, we handed out flyers and tracts for the church. Our time was limited at the first school as we were doing our presentation during their break time. It was a little noisy but there was still a good group of students who were attentive. We ran through a couple fo songs and skits and had a quick gospel presentation with them.

We then headed to the next school where we had been the night before. This time the presentation was to be for the whole high school. This time we had a little more time for our presentation and were able to go through most of the program. As we had promised the day before, we also gave the graduating class a "recuerdo" (a bag of candy from the United States and a tract).

As the evening was upon us, we returned to the church for a snack and then the church service that evening. After some congregational singing, we presented some songs and skits encouraging each of us to be better witnesses. The message focused on the first three of the 10 Commandments as we saw how God is holy in His position, His image, and His name. There were several people who were not saved who had been invited to the church by some of the church members. After the service, several of them, stayed to ask questions and one of them that I know of prayed to accept Christ as his Savior.

After a full day of work, we went out with the pastor's family to get something to eat. We all enjoyed some good rotisserie chicken and french fries. It was now late and we headed back home, but we had one more Peruvian experience on the way: a flat tire. Our driver got out and then noticed that his spare was also flat. After a short wait, we were transferred to a different "combi" and made our way back the rest of the way home.
