Today is the day to go sightseeing. Emily has been serving as our main photographer (though several others and also doing their fair share) as we have accumulated over 2000 pictures so far. Its a good thing that we are dealing with digital pictures as the price otherwise would be prohibitive.

We started by visiting a church and then a cemetery which are not typical tourist attractions but that do show some of the culture in Peru. We then headed downtown to the main plaza where we were able to see the changing of the guard at the Governmental Palace. After walking around some more, we stopped for lunch (which took way too long) and were able to try a few different meals.

We then headed to the zoo. We were running behind schedule so we were only able to stay there for a little over an hour but we were able to see many different animales. While we were watching some of the birds and as Katy took a picture of one of them, they all started to "sing" and it got very loud in the bird house. It seemed that everyone enjoyed their time in the zoo.

Of course, we have to go shopping for all the souvenirs for ourselves and others, so we headed to the special artisan stores. After some shopping we got some Peruvian pizza for supper and then returned for more shopping before returning home.
