We left at 7:30 to arrive for the church service in the morning at IBB Zarate. We had invited all the teams from the volleyball tournament and we had several teams that were represented. The service started with congregational singing and then we took over. We did several of our skits and songs and the I preached. Since it was Father's Day, the message was geared towards parents but with a gospel presentation being presented. Many of the ideas for the message were taken from the book "How to Bring Your Children to Christ and Keep Them There" by Ray Comfort.
After the service, the church provided lunch for us and we had a chance to talk to many of the active members of the church. It was encouraging to be able to talk to Christians who have a desire to win others for Christ.
Since we then had some time to kill before our next service, we went to downtown Lima and walked around. As we entered the main plaza, the Roman Catholics were having a large ceremony in front of their main cathedral.
After a couple hourse, we returned to the church where we met the associate pastor who is helping another smaller church with its services. The service went well but it was challenging as we had a large group of kids who were a little loud.
We returned to Zarate for the final service fo the day. Though the church was mostly empty when we started, it was moslty full in time for the message. We talked about some signs of true and false conversion and the fruit that should be produced by a true convert.
After the service, many of the people that we had gotten to know over the last few days came up and told us how appreciative they were for our visit. They then asked if we could have a special time of prayer with them as a final farewell.
On the way home, we stopped at McDonalds to get a little more to eat as we had not really had supper due to the timing of the two night services.
